Mr. Nimesh JainConsultant Orthopaedic Upper Limb and Trauma Surgeon
Mr. Nimesh Jain is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years of experience in orthopaedics, specialising in upper limb surgery. His expertise spans a broad range of procedures including shoulder arthroscopy, sports injury management, shoulder replacement, and shoulder stabilisation for dislocations. He is highly skilled in the reconstruction of the acromioclavicular joint, repair of pectoralis major tendon injuries, and treatment of fractures around the shoulder and clavicle.
Mr. Jain also treats a variety of elbow conditions such as arthritis, elbow replacements, tennis and golfer’s elbow, biceps tendon repair and reconstruction, as well as fractures and instability of the elbow. His practice extends to the management of hand and wrist pathologies, including fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, ganglion cysts, trigger finger, and joint replacements.
He began his medical education in India, completing his MBBS in 2008 followed by a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics. He pursued further fellowship training in Mumbai, Germany, and South Korea to refine his skills. Mr. Jain later relocated to the UK, where he completed his specialist surgical training in North East England and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2019. He also earned an MCh in Trauma and Orthopaedics from Teesside University.
To further specialise, Mr. Jain completed the British Orthopaedic Association Upper Limb Fellowship in 2020 and a Trauma Fellowship at Liverpool University Hospital in 2021. He is also a graduate of the BOA Clinical Leadership Programme and has been practising as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2021.
Currently, Mr. Jain serves as a Consultant Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgeon and Trauma Lead for Orthopaedics at East Cheshire NHS Trust. In addition to his clinical work, he is actively engaged in research and clinical governance. He is the Principal Investigator for a multicentre clinical trial at East Cheshire NHS Trust and has authored more than 15 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
